Hello Aubery, Chad, Hannah, Jane, Jonathan, Samuel, & Taylor: Here are some pictures of the Garden Tomb here in Jerusalem.
The green metal door opens into a beautiful garden
with lots of trees and flowers.
This is what the tomb looks like from the outside.
It is carved out of a limestone hill,
and has a door and small window.
Uncle Jay, standing in front of the Garden Tomb entrance.
This tomb was owned by a kind and wealthy man named
Joseph of Arimethia.
Joseph gave this tomb to Jesus’ family,
so they would have a safe place to put Jesus’ body.
Inside the black gate is the place
where the disciples laid Jesus' body.
It is a stone slab carved out of limestone.
Here we are inside the tomb: Grandpa and Uncle James,
and Grandpa and Grandma Huntington.
This is a picture of my brother Kent and his wife, Janet.
The round stone in back of them is like the one
that would have been rolled in front of Jesus’ tomb,
only it would have been much larger.
This is my favorite part. As you turn to walk out of the tomb, there is a sign is on the door:
HE IS NOT HERE----FOR HE IS RISEN.
Jesus’ body was only in the tomb for 3 days. During those 3 days, Jesus spent some time in Heaven. After that, his spirit and body were re-united (resurrected). The stone over the entrance was rolled away by angels,
and Jesus left the tomb.
Kent & Janet inside the tomb.
The Garden Tomb is located near a hill called Golgatha,
which means “skull hill”. Below the is a bus station.
See if you can find Skull Hill in back. You might
be able to see the 2 caves that look like 2 eyes in a skull.
Here you can see the 2 caves and the top of Golgatha.

I hope you like these pictures of the Garden Tomb area.
